Heung-Min Son believes Tottenham can still catch Chelsea but insists Spurs' primary focus is on winning their remaining games

Heung-Min Son believes Tottenham can still catch Chelsea but insists Spurs' primary focus is on winning every game rather than being fixated on the Premier League leaders.

For the second season running, Spurs lead the chase on the league's pacesetters and have a credible, yet unfancied chance of winning the title.

Wednesday's last-gasp victory at Swansea ensured Tottenham remained firmly on Chelsea's coattails, seven points adrift with eight games to play.

While the nature of the win conjured emotions befitting of a late title charge, Son was keen to prevent such hysteria from derailing their campaign.

Asked if Spurs had celebrated keeping the pressure on Chelsea after the win at the Liberty Stadium, Son exclusively told Sky Sports: "No, not really.

"We just focus on us, that's very important. Sometimes they win and sometimes they drop points, either can happen. The important thing is our game, we are just looking forward to winning every game.

"We don't focus on Chelsea because when you think about Chelsea you worry. We play for us and that's why we played like we did at Swansea. We had belief and we wanted to win that game.

"Chelsea are important - they are top of the league, of course. They play every week like we do but the important thing is our game, getting three points."

Tottenham can pile the pressure on Chelsea ahead of their trip to Bournemouth by closing the gap at the top to four points with victory over Watford in Saturday's early game.

Despite Son insisting Spurs are focused on their own performances, the South Korea international revealed he still harbours aspirations of winning the title.

"I don't know if Chelsea will slip up but we still believe we can win," he added.

"We still believe we can catch them, of course. We have to win our games and then we have a great chance in the end."
