Harry Kane was proud to prove his class against Borussia Dortmund

Harry Kane was delighted to have delivered in the Champions League with a stunning double against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

The Tottenham striker has hit over 20 goals in the Premier League for three seasons in a row and said ahead of Wednesday's Group H opener he wanted to prove he was world class in Europe.

Spurs ended their Wembley hoodoo with a dazzling 3-1 victory over the much-fancied German side and manager Mauricio Pochettino described the England international as one of the "best strikers in the world".

Kane said: "It's a very proud night for me, a very pleasing night for me personally and for the team as well.

Mauricio Pochettino believes beating Borussia was bigger than three points

"You've got to produce the best against the best and Borussia Dortmund are one of the best teams in Europe.

"So I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing and keep my head down. I fancy myself in any game I play.

"I've just got to keep working hard for the team and hopefully the goals will come."
