Goalkeeper confident he will stay as number one

Paul Robinson is confident of remaining Tottenham's first-choice goalkeeper following the arrival of new manager Juande Ramos. The England number one kept a clean sheet against Blackpool on Wednesday in Ramos' first game in charge. But he has not been in top form for club or country this season and speculation suggests Ramos could be lining up a move for Sevilla goalkeeper Andres Palop. Ramos has insisted he has no plans to raid his former club and Robinson believes he will be given the chance to prove himself. "We will see what happens and if he makes any signings," said Robinson. "I am confident I am number one and that it will stay that way."

No fitness problem

Ramos has a reputation as a disciplinarian in training but Robinson insists a lack of stamina is one problem the Spaniard will not have to deal with. He explained: "I don't think our fitness has been behind the disappointing start to the season. "There are a lot of factors that contribute to a team losing."
