Spurs consider Spanish swoop

Juande Ramos' first move into the Spanish transfer market since taking over at Tottenham could see him land Almeria duo Alvaro Negredo and Mane. Negredo is a highly-rated centre forward, while Mane is a left-back who can also operate in midfield. The duo have both performed in La Liga this term as Almeria fight admirably to remain in the top-flight. But Spurs could be set to make a move for the key duo after Ramos' scouts sent back good reports on the pair. Negredo only arrived at the Estadio Mediterrano in the summer from Real Madrid - who have a buy-back option. Negredo played for Real Madrid's B team Castilla during his time at the Bernabeu - but he impressed Fabio Capello during his reign and was included in a number of squads for their Copa Del Rey campaign.

Interest

Since his move to Almeria, Negredo has bagged five goals in 15 starts and has a number of clubs from around Europe taking an interest. "There does exist interest from big clubs in England, Germany and France for our players at Almeria but we have not received any formal offers," insisted Almeria supreme Alfonso Garca. But Negredo has already revealed his delighted at being linked with Spurs. "For me it is good to hear that Tottenham follow me," he told the Spanish press. "But I do not know any more details. Now in my head I am only thinking about Almeria and to play as much as I can for them. "Any offers go to my agent and club." Both Negredo and Mane are contracted to Almeria until 2010 - but they are unlikely to stand in their way if Ramos decides to firm up his interest.
