Lyon dismiss link with goalkeeper

Lyon have 'categorically denied' receiving a bid from Tottenham for goalkeeper Gregory Coupet. Spurs are expected to sign a keeper this summer after allowing Radek Cerny to join Queens Park Rangers and with uncertainty still surrounding the future of Paul Robinson. Reports in France have suggested that Coupet could be on his way to White Hart Lane after this weekend's Coupe de France final. Nice's Hugo Lloris is a transfer target for Lyon and if he arrives it would leave 35-year-old Coupet surplus to requirements. However, Coupet is contracted to the club until 2010 and Lyon have insisted he will not be leaving. "Lyon categorically deny having received any offer from the English club Tottenham about the transfer of Gregory Coupet," read a brief statement on the club's official website. "Moreover, the club would like to remind everyone of the general fact that no discussions relating to possible transfers will take place before the Coupe de France final at the Stade de France on Saturday in which the club as a whole have all their focus."
