Gareth Bale is not ruling out a monumental upset when Tottenham host Real Madrid in the return leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie.
Spurs' backs are firmly against the wall to progress in Europe's illustrious competition after suffering a 4-0 defeat at El Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night.
Peter Crouch's early dismissal handed the incentive to Real to attack at will and they made their numerical advantage count by securing a commanding first-leg lead.
Bale was one of a few players to hold their heads up high following their Madrid thumping and he is not giving up hope of ruffling a few feathers at White Hart Lane.

"We have to play at our best, stop their best players and score goals at White Hart Lane," said Bale.
"It's going to be a difficult task, everyone knows that but I still think it's possible.
"We are not going to sit back and take another beating from them in the second leg. Hopefully we will win and hopefully that win will be enough.
"Anything can happen. We will be ready for them."
Learning
Spurs have enjoyed a fine season to date and Bale now hopes that their disappointing defeat to Real Madrid does not derail the remainder of their Premier League campaign.
"We have to pick ourselves up for the rest of the season," he continued.
"We can still finish fourth or higher maybe. We have to keep going. We still have the second leg and the league.
"We are a young team that is learning and I think we can definitely learn from this."
