Redknapp - We couldn't cope

Harry Redknapp admitted Spurs struggled to contain a rampant Man City side in their 5-1 thumping.

Defensive errors cost us, says boss

Harry Redknapp admitted Spurs struggled to contain a rampant Man City side in their 5-1 drubbing at home. The Tottenham chief could do little but watch as Edin Dzeko tore apart his defence with four clinical finishes. His miserable day continued when Sergio Aguero got on to the scoresheet, despite Younes Kaboul pulling one back which was merely a consolation as they met City in particularly devastating form in front of goal. "We didn't defend well enough, they play a little push and run around the edge of the box, we don't run with people, they get a free header, so we didn't defend well enough and it cost us," he said. "Once you get a couple of goals down from a good side like that it's really difficult, they're full of quality there's no doubt about that. "They've got fantastic forward players, they're going to be difficult for anyone to contain them for 90 minutes. "They've got players with goals in them - you've only got to look at them."
