Rovers stopper extends Spotland stay

Blackburn's young goalkeeper Frank Fielding has extended his loan stay at Rochdale until the end of the season. The 20-year-old Blackburn stopper has impressed while on loan at Spotland after keeping a clean sheet on his debut against Notts County last month. The promising keeper, who has had spells at Northampton and Wycombe, will now stay with Dale until the end of the current campaign in League Two. Meanwhile, Rochdale Chief Executive Colin Garlick has confirmed Dale will be appealing Nathan Stanton's red card in the 4-2 win over Aldershot. "It is our opinion that we have a good case as the red card was issued for 'denying a goalscoring opportunity'," Garlick said on the club's official website. "From the evidence that we have collected Ciaran Toner was clearly in a position to make a tackle on the player concerned."
