Watch Andre Green miss a glorious chance for Villa against Hull when it looked easier to score!

Andre Green spurned a gilt-edged opportunity to earn Aston Villa victory in their Sky Bet Championship opener against Hull City.

Gabriel Agbonlahor gave Villa the perfect start with the opening goal on seven minutes but, after the hosts had failed to make the most of their early dominance, Jarrod Bowen levelled proceedings with his first competitive goal on 62 minutes.

With the scores locked at 1-1, Green was brought on with 20 minutes remaining tasked with finding the winning goal.

And the 19-year-old was presented with a glorious opportunity to do just that with 10 minutes remaining, when he evaded his marker to get on the end of a Henri Lansbury free-kick.

The ball missed the clutches of Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor and fell perfectly to Green, who should have put Villa back in front, but he got his header all wrong from two yards out and directed the ball back across goal.

With that went Villa's hopes of winning on John Terry's debut as the hosts settled for a point on their first game of the season.
