Falkirk have suffered a blow with the news that Tim Krul faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.
Krul, who is on loan at Falkirk from Newcastle, suffered a dislocated shoulder in his side's Scottish Cup replay defeat to Aberdeen on Tuesday.
The highly-rated Dutchman has undergone surgery on the injury and Bairns boss John Hughes expects him to be missing for up to three months.
Operation
"Tim will have an operation and then go back down to Newcastle for his rehab," Hughes told the
Daily Record. "They reckon he's going to be out for anything from eight to 12 weeks. That is unfortunate.
"We are more concerned about Tim because he has been outstanding for us. I can't speak highly enough of the lad.
"He's a 19-year-old boy who plays well beyond his years. He'll be much missed."
It means Robert Olejnik will be pitched in against Celtic this weekend and Hughes has no worries about playing the young Austrian.
"I have no qualms about putting Robert in but underneath him I only have two kids who are YTS. They aren't ready yet," added Hughes.
"I'd be looking to bring one or two players into the club, all of a sudden priorities change. I could take the gamble and just go with that but it would be a gamble not worth taking."
