Newcastle boss remains upbeat

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew remains upbeat ahead of their trip to Manchester United in spite of his side losing their unbeaten record at Manchester City. The Magpies lost 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday and that was the first game of a tricky run with Manchester United and Chelsea to follow. But Pardew insists he goes into their next game at Old Trafford with no fears at all especially as he will have star midfielder Cheik Tiote set to return along with former Red Devils winger Gabriel Obertan. "I have no fear going to Manchester United after seeing that," said Pardew. "We are still in a great position and we will have some key players back in Tiote and Obertan. That will help." Pardew has consistently refused to buy into the theory that his side's impressive form will collapse once they have completed a run of matches involving both Manchester clubs and Chelsea.
