Newcastle have told their fans not to travel to Wigan's DW Stadium this weekend unless they have an away ticket.
The Magpies visit the Latics on Saturday for a crucial Premier League game and earlier this week manager Alan Pardew urged as many supporters as possible to travel and get behind his team.
Wigan later stressed that there would not be an increase in the visitors' 4,500-allocation, which has sold out, and expressed concern about away fans trying to buy tickets in the home stands.
And Newcastle have now issued a statement advising supporters without a ticket in the away end to stay on Tyneside.

It read: "With regards to our Barclays Premier League fixture at Wigan on Saturday, Newcastle United would like to make it known that all tickets for the away section of the DW Stadium have sold out.
"As with all away fixtures, we would like to remind our fans not to travel to the north west for this weekend's game unless you have a match ticket for the away section of the stadium."
Pardew's men go into the game on the back of a six-match winning streak, which has kept them in the driving seat for the fourth and final UEFA Champions League place.
With three games left the Magpies are fourth, three points clear of Tottenham with sixth-placed Chelsea a point further back.
The match is also hugely significant for Wigan as the Latics are a point above the relegation zone after winning four of their last six.
