The Queens Park Rangers loanee arrived in the summer with a calf problem which meant he was not able to make his debut until the end of August against Fulham.
But after making his first start in the win at Aston Villa at the weekend, Remy says the best is to come from him and Newcastle.
"I did not do the pre-season so it was important to get fit quickly to help the team.
"I worked hard during the international break but I still need two or three games to be completely fit. I felt very good about my run, about everything, but I need more games.
"We are confident now. It was important to win, because if we can have a lot of games like this and win more and more games, it will be good for the future.
"We have a good game at home next week, and if we keep going we have the quality in the team to do very well this season."
Remy also gave his backing to team-mate Yohan Cabaye - who issued an apology to Newcastle fans earlier this week after his brief falling out with the club after they turned down a bid from Arsenal for his services.
"Yohan is a good professional, so it was not a problem for him. He was not affected by what happened," he said.
"That is in the past and he will look to the future. He is staying here, he knows he is staying here, so that will not be a problem at all."
