Schalke insist they have no interest in selling Leroy Sane to Manchester City, despite reports in Germany suggesting the Premier League club are willing to part with £40m for the winger.

Sane, 19, made his debut for the Bundesliga club in 2014 and won his first cap for Germany against France at the Stade de France in November.

He is currently on a winter training camp in Orlando with Schalke, whose chairman Clements Tonnis told our Sky colleagues in Germany: "No official offer yet. It was decided Leroy should stay and the player also wants to stay at Schalke. So this is not an issue."

City are yet to comment on the reports, but if they were to pay £40m for a player widely regarded as one of Europe's hottest young properties, they would make Sane the most expensive German in transfer history.
