Pep Guardiola is keen to make further additions to his Manchester City squad before the end of the transfer window.
Guardiola has spent more than £200m already this summer and smashed the world-record fee for a defender when he signed Kyle Walker from Tottenham in a £50m deal last month.
But Guardiola's summer spending is not complete, although he concedes Manchester City will not approach future transfer windows the same way.
"There is still 20 days left and there will be more transfers," he told reporters ahead of City's season-opener at Brighton on Saturday.
"Hopefully, next season I'll be here, and now we're not going to spend how we have spent this season I assure you that."
"Next season, for the next three or four years, Manchester City will sign one, two, maybe three players but we are not going to do what happened this season. But we needed to do that because we were one of the oldest teams in Europe and we had to change that.
"We spent, but all the teams spent. We did it earlier. We are lucky because would be more expensive now. The club was clever like that because we anticipated what we needed.
"The group of players we have now you will see for a long time at Manchester City. With the strikers we have - Sergio (Aguero), Raheem (Sterling), Gabriel (Jesus), Bernardo Silva - all of them, they're so young so they're going to stay for the future.
"It's the same for the midfielders, maybe not the holders [holding midfielders] and it's the same with the full-backs."
City go into the Premier League season as most people's tip to win the title but Guardiola says the favourites tag means nothing after beginning the last campaign in a similar position, only to finish third.
He said: "We were favourites last season and missed out by 15 points, so being favourites this season means nothing."
