Brazilian's agent admits Spanish interest

Robinho's father has revealed that the Manchester City attacker's future is far from certain. The Brazilian forward has been linked on a number of occasions with a move to Spanish side Barcelona, and the player has hinted at his desire to play for the Catalans at some point in the future. Robinho's father Gilvan da Souza, who is also the player's agent, refused to confirm that his son would be leaving Eastlands, although he did say that there is interest from Barca. "We are waiting for Manchester City to tell us something about the future of my son," he told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo. "I am very aware of what is said and published in Barcelona in relation to my son. "Until the two clubs do agree and we officially have a decision, we must keep them guessing. "Robinho is a professional who is bound to City, with whom he has a contract, but if your club (Barca) agrees, the choice is very exciting. Let's see." The former Real Madrid star is currently sidelined with an ankle injury and is the subject of a club versus country row as Brazil want him to link up with the squad for upcoming friendlies against England and Oman, despite City's objections. "Now it is important to know that Robinho is fully recovered from his injury," da Souza added. "He has a very important game on the 14th in Qatar with Brazil against England and then on the 17th in Oman. "These meetings should help strengthen our bid for the World Cup."
