Striker feels for fellow countryman, but understands City's stance

Sergio Aguero admits to having been left saddened by the events which have driven a wedge between Manchester City and Carlos Tevez. The Argentine striker has been frozen out of the first-team fold at the Etihad Stadium since a controversial night in Munich on 27th September. He was named on the bench for a UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich but never made it onto the field. Confusion regarding his lack of involvement erupted, with City conducting an internal investigation into the actions of their forward. He was suspended and fined, but is now in a position to resume his City career. There would, however, appear to be little chance of that happening, with Tevez having already stated his desire to leave the club over the summer.

Pain

Tevez's international and club colleague, Aguero, is disappointed to have seen the issue spiral out of control, with the differences between the club and their employee doing no-one any favours. "Unfortunately, the club and Carlitos haven't reached an agreement and it pains me, as an Argentine and a team-mate, it makes me sad," Aguero told ESPNDeportes.com. "I can't get involved in defending Carlitos or the club because I don't know what happened. "Only they know. It's a shame for everyone. "Hopefully, in these days or the next month it can be solved and he will be with us."
