New Cardiff boss wants reunion as his first signing

Skysports.com understands that new Cardiff boss Malky Mackay wants to make Middlesbrough's Andrew Taylor his first signing. Tony Mowbray wants to keep the defender at The Riverside, but he is out of contract and has only been offered reduced terms as part of a new deal. Mowbray was impressed by Taylor in the second half of last season after the 24-year-old returned from a loan spell at Watford. However, former Watford boss Mackay paid similar attention to Taylor's talents during their time together at Vicarage Road and was interested in a permanent deal. Taylor, who was born in the North East, therefore has a decision to make over his future.
