Burnley close on Reading centre-back
Sky Sports News understands Andre Bikey has passed a medical with Burnley and the Reading defender is close to a move to Turf Moor.
Clarets boss Owen Coyle is thought to view the Cameroon international as an ideal candidate to help bring a powerful presence to his backline.
Burnley are believed to have offered Brendan Rodgers £2.8million for Bikey, which is close to a £3m release clause, but the Royals boss does not want to sell.
Rodgers, though, has previously confessed he may lose the centre-back, who is again available for selection after being sent off in last season's Championship play-off semi-final defeat at Burnley.
Rodgers told the
Reading Post: "He has many competitors in the Cameroon squad, who he may feel will be in front of him unless he's playing at the highest level.
"This is a World Cup year, those in the international reckoning will feel that they have to be playing at the very highest level to have a chance to go to a World Cup."
