Watford manager Walter Mazzarri dedicated his side's 2-1 victory at Arsenal to former Hornets boss, the late Graham Taylor.
Taylor, who managed Watford during two separate spells at Vicarage Road, passed away in January.
And Mazzarri was quick to dedicate the three points to Taylor, whose funeral takes place on Wednesday.
"I'm very proud, especially with our first half performance because we played the football I like," Mazzarri told Sky Sports.
"It's very important for me. I want to dedicate this victory to Graham Taylor.
"I wanted to do it before but it came today in a very important match. Tomorrow is his funeral so it's a great day to win."
Watford raced into an early two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Younes Kaboul and Troy Deeney before Arsenal pulled one back in the second half-through Alex Iwobi.
The visitors held on, though, and Mazzarri hailed an important win for his side.
"It came together exactly as we prepared it in the first-half," he added. "Then in the second-half we were a bit lower because some players like Daryl Janmaat and M'Baye Niang are still trying to find their optimal condition and other players like Craig Cathcart and Kaboul are just coming back. Valon Behrami was also coming back from an injury.
"We needed this win to bring morale to the whole team and to convince them we are growing day-by-day."
Before the game, Watford confirmed Odion Ighalo had completed a move to Chinese club Changchun Yatai.
A fee of £20m is understood to have been agreed between the two clubs and Mazzarri wished the striker well with his move away from Vicarage Road.
"Ighalo is a very nice person," Mazzarri said. "He's very professional.
"I wish him good luck but sometimes there are decisions which go over the manager's head. Sometimes the club and the player make the decisions and this time it was like this.
"But I want to wish him good luck because firstly he's a great person but also a great professional."
