Derby manager Paul Jewell has snapped up Nathan Ellington and Jordan Stewart from Watford.
Jewell signed Ellington when he was in charge of Wigan and he has now picked up the striker on a one-year loan deal which will then turn into a permanent move on a free transfer.
Defender Stewart, released by the Hornets at the end of the season, has joined on a three-year contract.
Jewell is delighted to have captured both players and feels they will help Derby mount a strong challenge for promotion.
"Nathan is a player I know a lot about and I think this is a really exciting signing for us," Jewell told the club's official website.
Lethal
"At his best he can be the most lethal striker in the Championship.
"He has produced that form for me before and I believe I can get Nathan to reproduce that form for Derby and if he does he has the potential to be the best signing of the summer in this division.
"I tried to sign Jordan in the January transfer window but we ran out of time in the end.
"He is a great acquisition for us and someone who will have a big part to play in our promotion push next season."
Jewell has been busy looking for new players since Derby's relegation from the Premier League and he has also lined up moves for Paul Green, Paul Connolly and Kris Commons.
