Manager says Dickinson signing does not spell end for youngster

Manager Sean Dyche insists on-trial defender Tom James still has a chance of winning a deal at Watford, despite the recent signing of Carl Dickinson. James, 22, is a left-back along with Dickinson, who joined the Hornets from Premier League outfit Stoke for an undisclosed fee. But Dyche has denied it spells the end for the youngster, who joined on trial from Midland Football Alliance club Stratford Town. "Tom is a development-style player, he is not ready for the Championship yet," Dyche told the Watford Observer. "We are a development kind of club for young players, he is part of that. "He is being looked after and he is still with us."
