Watford are close to completing a season-long loan deal for the Italy international Alessandro Diamanti.

But it is unlikely Diamanti, who moved to current Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande in in 2014, will be registered to feature in Watford's first home game of the season against West Brom on Saturday.

"He's been training with us for a few days and has put in good performances," Flores confirmed.
