QPR hope to appoint a new head coach during the international break, according to Sky sources.
Chris Ramsey was sacked on Wednesday after winning just two games since August, leaving Neil Warnock to take charge against Preston this weekend.
It is understood Rangers have a list of potential successors with no front-runner, but the hope is a new man will be in place by the time they go to Middlesbrough on November 20.
Warnock, who returned to the club as an advisor last month, will definitely be in charge for Saturday's home game against Preston.
