QPR have confirmed the signing of Brentford left-back Jake Bidwell on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old captained the Bees in the Sky Bet Championship last season and he becomes QPR's third summer signing after Joel Lynch and Ariel Borysiuk.

Bidwell started his career with Premier League side Everton but his only senior appearance came in the Europa League against BATE Borisov as a teenager in 2009.

He spent the part of the 2011-12 campaign and entire 2012-13 season on loan with Brentford, before joining them on a permanent deal in the summer of 2013 and helping them secure promotion to the Championship.

In total Bidwell played more than 200 games for the Bees, and he told QPR's website: "I just felt now was a good time for me to move on from Brentford - and QPR felt like the right fit.

"When I spoke to Jimmy [Floyd Hasselbaink] and Les [Ferdinand] about football, we were on the same wavelength straight away.

"Now it's down to me to repay the faith of them both and show the QPR fans what I can do for the club.

"I feel I can go on and improve as a player here and take my game to the next level, so that's something I'm excited about. I'm just looking forward to getting going, meeting everyone, and cracking on with it."
