Wolves have signed 22-year old striker Duckens Nazon on an initial deal until the end of the season.

The French-born Haiti international was a free agent but has now joined on a short-term deal, with a year’s option to follow, having trained with the club for the last few weeks.

Nazon has played for Lorient, St Quentin and Lavel in France and also had a short spell with Indian Super League side Kerala Blasters, who are coached by Steve Coppell.

He has also scored five goals from 16 games at international level.

Nazon is likely to be assessed with the Under-23 squad before he becomes part of manager Paul Lambert’s first team plans.

“Duckens is a player we have seen in the Copa America and also playing in France,” Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell told Wolves’ official website. “He has some interesting qualities.

“Strikers are hard to come by and when you find someone who has pace and power, and wants to develop and learn and grow, sometimes you take that opportunity and take a chance on it.

“Now Duckens has signed an initial short term deal, he has to prove he is capable of playing in England and playing at this level and hopefully he will come through.”

The player himself is delighted to have made the move to Molineux and described the chance to play in English football as the fulfilment of a dream.

“I like to use my power and pace when I play, it’s a key part of my game - when I’m in front of goal I am also very calm which helps when you're a striker,” he said.

“I want to give my maximum for the team if I can help and hopefully play some minutes.

“Everyone wants to come and play in England - English football is not the same as where I have played before, but I think I will be able to adapt quickly.”
