Midfielder eyes return to action

Bristol City midfielder David Noble is closing in on a return to first-team action. Noble came through a reserve team run-out against Cardiff unscathed after four months on the sidelines. The former Arsenal youngster has yet to feature for City this season as he struggles with a groin problem. However, Noble believes he has finally overcome his injury and is ready to push for a place in Gary Johnson's starting XI.

Frustrating

"I've had such a frustrating time this summer and it's been hard being out injured while the other lads have got stuck into the Championship," Noble told the club's official website. "Because of how we finished the last season, I wanted to come back flying at the start of this one. Unfortunately that hasn't happened and it's been hard keeping my head up at times. "Hopefully the worst is now behind me and I've proved I'm on the way back. I felt I did okay at Cardiff and I didn't feel any discomfort from my groin."
