Sheffield Wednesday have agreed to let midfielder Sean McAllister join Mansfield on a one-month loan.
McAllister agreed a one-year contract with the Owls in July, but he has not featured in manager Brian Laws' first team this season.
The 20-year-old is therefore keen to gain regular football elsewhere after making only seven first-team appearances for Wednesday last season.
"This is a great opportunity for Sean to play some games and we believe he will benefit a lot from his month at Mansfield," said Laws
McAllister is likely to be named in Mansfield's squad for their match against Peterborough on Sunday, following the completion of the necessary paperwork.
