Goalkeeper signs new three-year deal

Matt Duke has signed a new three-year contract with Hull City. The goalkeeper has put pen-to-paper on a new deal and is now tied to the KC Stadium until 2010. Duke has followed current Hull No.1 Boaz Myhill, who signed new terms less than a month ago, in agreeing an extension at the club. Hull manager Phil Brown is delighted to have secured long-term goalkeeping cover.

Competition

"I've got two fantastic goalkeepers at the club and together the two make one," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail. "There is great competition between them and they're improving one another. "There's a great calmness to Matt's game that Bo can learn from and that is largely down to his maturity. "But the new deal for Matt is testimony to the start he made during pre-season and the way he has continued it in the past few months. "Since I've been at the club, I've seen him progressing and he fully deserved his chance to be the No.1 goalkeeper."
