Rowan Vine has been backed to make his mark in the Premier League after opting for a stint of Championship football.
The Birmingham striker agreed to join QPR for a month after struggling to force his way into Steve Bruce's plans at St Andrews.
And Vine made an instant impression, scoring on his debut at Colchester before featuring heavily in the club's first win of the season against QPR.
Caretaker manager Mick Harford said: "We were delighted to get Rowan in. It's been a bit of a coup for us to get him and I'm sure he'll score goals at Queens Park Rangers.
"I believe Rowan will be a Premier League player. He's a great character, he works hard at his game, scores all sorts of goals and his work ethic is absolutely spot-on."
Barker
Rangers full-back Chris Barker is hoping to be fit for Saturday's clash with Ipswich despite undergoing hernia surgery.
The full-back followed in the footsteps of Michael Owen and Craig Bellamy by visiting the German clinic of surgeon Ulrika Maschaweck.
Both Owen and Bellamy astonished many with an almost instant return to action, and Barker is hoping to do the same.
QPR physio Paul Hunter said: "The club are keen to use the best possible aid. Ulrika uses the very latest techniques which means the recovery time is a lot less.
"We've made use of the international break to get this done. We're confident Chris will be back in training and available for the Ipswich game."
Meanwhile, young midfielder Stefan Bailey has joined Blue Square Premier side Oxford United on a one-month loan deal.
