Palace boss chasing defender

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock admits he is still desperate to sign Stoke defender Clint Hill. Palace lost full-backs Lee Hills and Tony Craig to injury in Saturday's Championship clash with Scunthorpe and Warnock is now keen to bolster his squad. Warnock's bid to bring Hill to Selhurst Park on a two-month loan deal had looked to be over when talks appeared to break down last week. But the Palace boss has renewed his interest in the centre-back in the wake of his defensive injury problems. "We've been talking to Clint, but obviously we've got to agree everything before he can play for us," Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser. "The sooner that happens the better. "We're hoping everything can be tied up because we're down to the bare bones at the back. If anyone else gets injured, we're in dire straits."
