Exeter hot-shot wants a Pilgrims move

Exeter striker Jamie Mackie has handed in an official transfer request to try and force a move to Devon rivals Plymouth Argyle. The 14-goal striker is desperate to make the jump from the Conference to the Championship, where Plymouth are currently play-off contenders. Paul Sturrock's Pilgrims have so far made two bids for Mackie, who has also attracted interest from other league clubs Bristol City, Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town. But Exeter have rejected all offers, prompting Mackie, 22, to tell the club he wants a switch to Plymouth.

He handed in his official transfer request before Exeter's FA Trophy defeat to Rushden and Diamonds. Exeter boss Steve Perryman confirmed the second offer from Plymouth telling the club's official website: "Yes, we have received another offer for Jamie. "But we are not excited about it and to be fair, I don't think Argyle thought we would be. "We haven't turned it down yet, it's on the table, but that's as far as it goes."
