Coventry beat host of other clubs to sign left-back

In-demand Walsall left-back Dan Fox is set to join Championship side Coventry on Monday. The 21-year-old passed a medical and agreed personal terms after meeting Sky Blues boss Iain Dowie and club officials on Friday. His impending move comes after the Sky Blues had an undisclosed bid for the player accepted by the League One outfit. Coventry have beaten a host of other clubs to sign the highly-rated player, who has made 27 league and cup starts - with one substitute appearance - this term, scoring three goals. Fox - who signed for Walsall on a free transfer from Everton in July 2005 - held talks with Colchester earlier this month but opted not to join the Championship side, while he has also been linked with Wolves and Leeds. He would have been cup-tied for the Sky Blues' home game against Millwall in the FA Cup Fourth Round on Saturday and will instead watch his new team-mates as a guest at the Ricoh Arena.
