Centre-back staying at Whaddon Road

Bristol City have allowed defender Richard Keogh to stay at Cheltenham Town until the end of the season. The 21-year-old centre-back has played six times for the League One side since moving from Ashton Gate. He joined Town on an initial one-month loan in March, but boss Keith Downing has now renegotiated a deal to keep the youngster at Whaddon Road. "Richard has been a tremendous asset for us. It's a big plus to have him for the rest of the season and I'm thankful again to Gary Johnson for loaning him to us," Downing told his club's official website. "Richard has struck up a good understanding with Shane Duff from day one and I think they are as good a centre-back pairing as any in the division."
