Full-back should be fit for pre-season

Blackpool full-back Stephen Crainey is to undergo a knee operation to ensure he is fit for pre-season. Crainey has been carrying the injury for the past two months and aggravated the problem in training last week. He will have surgery later this week and will miss Blackpool's final game of the Championship season against Watford on Sunday. "Stephen had been carrying a slight knee injury for a couple of months," Seasiders boss Simon Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette. "It has been no real problem for him, but then he landed awkwardly on it during training, which triggered it off. "He has got cartilage damage and he will be seeing a surgeon this week and having an operation. "We're not sure exactly how long he'll be out, but obviously his season has ended and he won't be facing Watford."
