Czech Republic striker Jan Koller has signed for Russian side Krylya Sovetov Samara.
The giant forward has agreed an 18-month deal with his new club and is thought to have cost in the region of one million euros (£790,000).
The 35-year-old spent the second half of last season with German side Nurnberg, but struggled for form and was unable to prevent the club slipping out of the Bundesliga.
His contract with Nurnberg was due to run until 2010, but he will now take up a new challenge in Russia.
Koller, who was involved in Euro 2008 action for Czech Republic, will join up with his countryman Jiri Jarosik at ambitious Samara.
Satisfied
The club are keen to make an impression in Europe and beat off competition from Birmingham, Austria Vienna and FC Kazan to land their No.1 target.
Koller's agent, Pavel Paska, confirmed that his client will complete the formalities of the switch once he returns from a pre-season break.
"Everything has turned out satisfactory for all parties," Paska told
CTK.
"Honza (Jan) will now have a short holiday and at the start of July, when the Russian league resumes, he will join the team."
