Ledley the hero for Cardiff

Cardiff secured the Algarve Challenge Cup after a 1-0 win over Celtic in Portugal. The Championship side followed up their opening win over Guimareas with a narrow victory over the Scottish champions. Joe Ledley scored the only goal of the game to give Dave Jones' men a morale-boosting win. Cardiff came close to breaking the deadlock after just six minutes when the former Rangers striker saw his powerful shot strike the crossbar. The decisive strike arrived on 18 minutes when Ledley lashed the ball home after being teed up by Ross McCormack. Celtic tried to hit back, but struggled to find a way through a resolute Cardiff defence.
