Ternent expecting big things from winger

Huddersfield Town have completed the signing of Gary Roberts from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee. Roberts has accepted a two-year contract at the Galpharm Stadium and becomes Huddersfield boss Stan Ternent's sixth summer signing. The winger had been told he could leave Ipswich at the end of last season and Ternent is expecting Roberts to make an impact in League One. "Gary is an extremely good player, whose preferred position is the left wing," Ternent told the club's official website. "However, he can play with a striker and on the right-hand side. He is good quality and is another piece of the jigsaw.

Talented

"I expect big things from him, as he is a talented lad. He can score goals as well as create them and he's definitely a forward-going player. "We were lacking width on the left-hand side of our squad and I've been chasing him for some time now, so I'm delighted to get him." Though Ternent has been active in the transfer market over the summer, he is still looking to make further additions to his squad. He continued: "As things stand now, I still need a few. In an ideal world, if I was being really, really greedy, I would want another five players - maybe six."
