January plans for Palace hinge on Watson's future

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock is keeping tight-lipped on reports he wants to sign Matty Fryatt from Leicester City. Fryatt has scored 19 goals for the Foxes this season and has been linked with a move to Championship side Palace. He is out of contract next summer, but Warnock refused to confirm whether he would be interested in making a January bid for the 22-year-old "He's a player who scores goals, but at the moment there are lots of names being mentioned, and the fact remains I can't do anything because of the way the finances are," Warnock told the South London Press. Warnock has admitted that his plans to improve his squad in the New Year are likely to hinge on Ben Watson's immediate future. Watson's contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the season and the midfielder's sale in January could free up funds for Warnock. He added: "It's difficult with regards to what we are going to do in January or how much we are going to spend because we don't know what's going to happen with Ben."
