Crystal Palace have confirmed their interest in signing Leroy Lita.
The 24-year-old is available on a free transfer after departing Reading.
Relegated Middlesbrough have been credited with an interest, and now Palace chief Neil Warnock has confirmed his interest in the former England Under 21 star.
"I did have a chat with his agent at the end of the season but financially I don't think we can get anywhere near him," said the Palace chief.
"I'll never say anything is dead because it depends what offers he gets. But he's not a priority - I've got to try and get a taller man in."
