Roy Keane has strengthened his Ipswich squad with the acquisition of Damien Delaney from Queens Park Rangers.
Skysports.com revealed earlier this week that Ipswich were close to agreeing a deal for the defender and the move has now been finalised.
The Republic of Ireland international has joined for an undisclosed fee, signing a two-year deal with Town.
Delaney, who can play in central defence as well as his more accustomed left-back role, is relishing the challenge of trying to perform well at Portman Road.
"I'm looking forward to the next step of my career here at Ipswich Town," the 27-year-old told the club's official website.
"I have spoken to the manager, Roy Keane, and it's clear this club is very ambitious and I'm delighted to be part of trying to take the club forward."
Keane also expressed his joy at securing the services of a player he has been tracking for some time.
"I'm delighted that Damien has agreed to join us," said the manager.
"He's a player that I have kept an eye on for a while and I'm sure he will prove to be a valuable addition to our squad."
