Midfielder undergoing medical as he closes on switch

Skysports.com understands Norwich City midfielder Sammy Clingan is undergoing a medical after his move to the Ricoh Arena was revived. Clingan had appeared set to join the Championship club earlier this month after Norwich accepted an offer from Coventry. However, the deal fell through after Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman criticised the player's agent and suggested he would look elsewhere for new signings. The transfer is now back on, though, with Clingan being put through a medical and he is expected to finalise the move within the next 24 to 48 hours. The Northern Ireland international only joined Norwich last summer from Nottingham Forest and impressed despite the club's relegation to League One. He scored six goals in 43 appearances for the Canaries and is now primed to secure a return to the Championship with Coventry.
