Plymouth have failed in an attempt to sign a Premier League defender on loan.
Loan bid proves unsuccessful, while Seip is transfer-listed
Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock has admitted that he has failed in an attempt to sign a Premier League defender on loan.
The Scot refused to name the target from the top flight, however, he remains hopeful he will capture at least one new face before the weekend.
Sturrock has been linked with Bournemouth's Jason Pearce, and the Argyle boss has revealed discussions with players are taking place.
He said: "We are trying very hard to get someone in on loan before Saturday.

"We have got a list and although one player has turned us down we are in ongoing negotiations with two or three others."
The anonymous Premier League player could have been a replacement for defender Marcel Seip after the Dutchman was placed on the loan transfer list for 'a breach of discipline'.
Sturrock told the club's
official website: "We feel it's an appropriate time for Marcel to move on.
"He's been fined two weeks wages for his discretion and placed on the transfer list."
Meanwhile, Plymouth are expected to be boosted by the return of right-back David McNamee from an ankle injury for Saturday's Championship match at West Brom.
