Laws trying to get McDonald out on loan to reignite career

Burnley manager Brian Laws has admitted the club are desperate to get midfielder Kevin McDonald out on loan. The 21-year-old crossed the border in 2008 when he signed from Dundee but he has found his first-team chances increasingly limited. He has only played 23 minutes of football this season, which came in the Carling Cup against Morecambe in which he also scored.

Fallen

"Kevin has maybe fallen from grace a wee bit," Laws told the club's official website. "He has found himself out of the first XI and difficult to get on the bench - that's how difficult it is to break into this squad. "The competition in midfield is as intense as anywhere and everyone is performing well. "That makes it difficult to involve Kevin in some capacity, so we have talked about getting him out on loan if we can and we are actively trying to do something."
