Lambert delighted to reward midfielder with extension

Norwich City midfielder Wes Hoolahan has signed a new contract to stay at Carrow Road until 2014. The Irishman has impressed since joining the Canaries from Blackpool in 2008 and has scored 24 goals in 102 appearances. His consistent form in the Championship for Norwich this season has seen Hoolahan linked with moves to other clubs. However, the 28-year-old has pledged his future to the Canaries and manager Paul Lambert is happy to have rewarded Hoolahan with an extension. "It's great for the club and great for Wes himself and I'm delighted with it," Lambert told the club's official website. "He's signed until 2014 and as I said we're trying to build things here and hopefully we can bring a few more in and keep it going. "You can't do it overnight and in the 17 months I have been here the rise of the club has been huge. We're second in the league and everything has been going really well."
