Midfielder could be out for two months with knee injury

Scunthorpe manager Ian Baraclough has revealed that midfielder Michael O'Connor is facing six to eight weeks on the sidelines. The Northern Ireland international suffered a knee injury in training on Thursday and the extent of the damage has now been revealed following scans. O'Connor will not require an operation but looks set to miss almost two months of Championship action. Baraclough admits it is a major blow to lose the 23-year-old at such a key stage of the season as Scunthorpe battle to avoid relegation, and he plans to now enter the transfer market. "It's not a good one. It's hard to take for the lad and for us," Baraclough told the Iron Player. "It's another blow to a squad which doesn't need injuries like that. "It's unfortunate that it's happened and it makes us one lighter. "I have to try and bring in reinforcements to help that situation."
