Defender makes permanent move to Home Park

Plymouth Argyle have completed the signing of Darren Purse on a deal that will run until the end of the season. The experienced defender was available as a free agent following his release by Millwall. Purse was already at Home Park on loan, but has seen that agreement turned into a permanent stay. Pilgrims boss Carl Fletcher had been looking to bring the 33-year-old on board for some time and he is delighted to have snared the former Birmingham City and Cardiff City man on a full-time basis. "We're delighted to have him here and he's pleased to be here so it's great for Plymouth Argyle that we can attract players like Darren," he told the club's official website. "He's got the experience, so when he comes in and plays that comes across and it's something we've been looking for in the team. "There are a lot of areas we need to strengthen and things we need to do, but to get one of those crossed off the list is pleasing for us."

Glad

Purse added: "It's good to have it all done. "It just means that we know what we need to do between now and the end of the season. "I was glad that I came on loan and that we've been on a good run since I've been here. "It was disappointing to get sent off and miss the last three games, but hopefully I'll be back in the side at the weekend and hopefully we'll get back to winning ways."
