Teenage striker to be part of the development squad

Teenage striker Joe Jackson has signed a new 12-month contract to extend his stay at Burnley. The 19-year-old scored three times on loan with hometown club Barrow towards the end of last season, and made his Clarets debut against Blackpool in April. The former youth team product will now train with Jason Blake's development squad, where he will be joined by 18-year-old Shay McCartan who also agreed a professional contract. New deals are also in the pipeline for goalkeepers Jon Stewart and Brian Jensen and forward Alex MacDonald, with the Clarets hoping to complete that business next week.
