Out-of-favour Leeds striker moves to South Yorkshire

Billy Paynter has completed his move from Leeds United to Doncaster Rovers on a two-year contract. As revealed by Sky Sports, the out-of-favour striker agreed a switch to the League One club and the move has now been confirmed. It brings to an end a frustrating two years at Elland Road for the 28-year-old, who switched to the Championship outfit in 2010. Enduring an injury-blighted first campaign, he scored just three goals in 28 appearances and was placed on the transfer list by Leeds boss Neil Warnock at the end of last season.

Signed

Paynter hopes to play a full part in helping Dean Saunders' side back into the Championship following their relegation last term. He told his new club's official website: "I'm pleased to be here. "I came down and trained with the lads a couple of weeks ago and I've signed today. "It's a good set-up here with a good bunch of lads and I'm looking to help fire Donny back up."
