Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov claims to have 'three or four' targets in mind for every position he is looking to strengthen.

He has also revealed that he will be looking to strike quickly once transfer talks are opened.

Doncaster are in need of fresh faces this summer as they look to paper over the cracks of 2013/14.

A season which promised much ended on a low as relegation was suffered out of the Sky Bet Championship.

Dickov knows life in the third tier will be tough next term and feels a freshening up of the ranks is required to ensure Rovers will be competitive.

A summer wish list has been drawn up and he is now hoping to be given the green light to start pursuing signatures, as Doncaster remain embroiled in a takeover saga.

Dickov told the Doncaster Free Press: “You can’t just have one player per position you’ve targeted.

“You have to have three or four because you’re not going to get everyone that you go for.

“And it’s important talks are done very quickly with the players that you’ve targeted.

“When we get back for pre-season, we’ll assess the sort of squad we’ve got and where we want to go.”
